Frequently Asked Questions
Are evaluations completed virtually or in-person?
I provide all psychological evaluations completely virtually. Because I am licensed in both California and Nevada, I can see clients who are physically located anywhere within either of these states.
Conducting evaluations via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth allows you to complete the process from the comfort and privacy of your own home, eliminating the need for travel or taking significant time off work. If you have any questions about how virtual evaluations work, I am happy to discuss the process during our initial consultation.
Do you take insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance. I operate as an out-of-network, private-pay provider.
For ADHD & Autism Evaluations:
If your insurance plan has out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a superbill (a detailed clinical receipt) upon request. You can submit this to your insurance company to seek potential reimbursement. Many clients are also able to use their Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds toward the cost of these evaluations.
For Immigration Evaluations:
Please note that health insurance companies do not cover forensic or legal assessments, as they are not considered "medically necessary" treatment. To help make this investment manageable, I offer flexible payment plans that allow you to split the cost into installments.
I am happy to discuss payment options and plans during our initial consultation.
How do I know if my insurance has out-of-network benefits?
The best way to find out is to call your insurance provider directly (using the member services phone number on the back of your insurance card).
When you call, you can ask them the following questions:
"Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health services?"
"Does my plan cover out-of-network psychological testing (CPT codes 96130 and 96131)?" (Note: These are the standard billing codes used for ADHD and Autism evaluations).
"What is my out-of-network deductible, and have I met it yet?" (This is the amount you must pay out-of-pocket before your insurance begins to reimburse you).
"What percentage of the allowed amount does my plan reimburse once the deductible is met?"
"How do I submit a 'superbill' (detailed receipt) for reimbursement, and how long does it typically take to process?"
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Because assessment sessions require reserving a significant block of clinical time, cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed appointments, will be subject to a late cancellation fee.
If you need to adjust your appointment, please contact me as soon as possible so we can find another time that works for you!
